Trash, Recycling, and Organics

Promenade at Spectrum currently employs Waste Management to maintain Trash, Recycling, and Organics collection and disposal operations.

Organics Recycling

The State of California has mandated that multi-family communities like Promenade must have organic waste recycling services; see California State Assembly Bill 1826 and California State Senate Bill 1383.

Promenade at Spectrum has complied with the new law and provides Organics Recycling Bins at our trash enclosures (See map for locations).

More information available at the Waste Management Organics Recycling web page.

Recycle Right

Promenade encourages you to properly recycle and dispose of items. Please review the Waste Management Recycle Right web page for recycling guidance and resources.

WARNING: Be aware that Waste Management charges us for improperly recycled items from each pickup. Please help us avoid the penalties by recycling right!

Waste Management Pick-Up Schedule

  • Monday (trash, recycle, and organics)
  • Wednesday (trash & recycle)
  • Friday (recycle only)
  • Saturday (trash only)
  • Within 2 days following a holiday - or missed pickup

Holiday Trash Disposal

During the holiday season, your Promenade at Spectrum HOA encourages you to responsibly dispose of your holiday decorations and trash.*

Because of the increased trash load, your HOA requests that all trees, wreaths, boxes, packaging, and related items be placed DIRECTLY INSIDE THE TRASH DUMPSTERS.

If any items are worthy of recycling, please place them into the proper recycling bin.

DO NOT LEAVE ANY ITEMS LAYING IN THE TRASH ENCLOSURE AREA.

* The HOA has discontinued the holiday extra bin service.

No Dumping at Trash Enclosures

Please remember and practice the following rules to help keep our home at Promenade looking its best:

  • Do not abandon any items around the trash enclosures.
  • DO NOT LEAVE MATTRESSES, FURNITURE, FOOD, ETC. IN THE ENCLOSURES.
  • PLACE ALL ITEMS INTO THE TRASH BINS.
  • Please review the list of Acceptable Items at Waste Management's website.
  • Please place only recyclable items in the recycle bin.
  • Remember, our HOA is charged $200 per load for special pickups if non-recyclable items are placed in the recycle bin.
  • Report trash scavengers to the City of San Diego.
Help keep Promenade clean and beautiful.
